Diaspora Reunion 2022: Together Again in BirminghamAfter a long wait and a global pause, the much-anticipated Diaspora Reunion finally returned in April 2022 — this time in the historic city of Birmingham, UK. Originally scheduled for 2021, the event had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 lockdowns, making this gathering all the more special.
Spanning three vibrant days, the reunion was a joyful blend of celebration, reconnection, and shared purpose. From clubbing nights that brought out our youthful energy, to a charity walk that reminded us of the importance of giving back, every moment was rich with meaning and laughter.
The heart of the event was, of course, the reunion main ceremony — a time to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and strengthen the bonds that continue to unite us across borders.
A major highlight of the closing ceremony was the symbolic passing of the hosting torch to Edmonton, Canada, setting the stage for the 2023 edition of this cherished biennial tradition.
The Birmingham reunion reminded us of how far we've come — not just in distance, but in spirit. After the challenges of the pandemic, it was a true gift to be able to gather again, in person, and keep the flame of our global alumni family burning bright.
